The request came from the municipality of Aalter to prevent the long queues experienced during previous elections. They approached CrowdScan to develop a simple yet innovative solution that required no complicated installation.

The result was an app in which poll workers at various voting stations in Aalter could input how busy it was at their station. The statuses ranged from quiet to average to (very) busy, based on predefined criteria discussed within the municipality.

Residents could then check a webpage to see the best time to head to the voting station to cast their vote.

Anton Dierickx: "As proud as we are of our CrowdScan technology, we also love to think outside the box to find the most suitable solution. Because we just love crowds."

The solution even made it to the Belgian news: Read the article in Dutch.

You can find the dashboard here: Aalter CrowdScan Dashboard.
